(850) 875.8800 ext. 4301
Letter from the Principal,
As the 2023-2024, school year approaches, it is our pleasure to welcome everyone back for
another great year. I am honored to serve as the Principal at George W. Munroe Elementary
School. After graduating from Florida A & M University, there was no doubt I would come back
to invest in my community where I am a proud graduate of the Gadsden County School District.
I come to you with 27 years of experience as a teacher, mentor, coach, and instructional leader.
As the instructional leader, my focus will be on continuous improvement by evaluating what we
have, determining what no longer works, and identifying what we need to make improvements.
The George W. Munroe team is committed to creating “Game Changing” moments that involve
focusing on the fundamentals and student success.
All students will grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We will build positive
partnerships with families that focus on student growth and learning. Each year is challenging,
but it presents “ARRGH” opportunities to refocus, rebuild, and reset for a successful year.
The George W. Munroe Elementary T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) is
committed to increasing each student’s level of achievement. Thank you for entrusting us to
educate your child. We enthusiastically look forward to working with you and celebrating
student achievement and growth this year!
Sincerely,
Germaine Kirkland, Principal
