Assistant Principal

Sonja Wilson Lewis, Assistant Principal

I am Sonja Wilson Lewis, and I am honored and humbled to introduce myself to you as the new
Assistant Principal of George W. Munroe Elementary School. Each learning community is a
unique family within itself, and I am looking forward to developing new relationships and
learning and growing with you.

The beginning of the 2023-2024 school year marks the beginning of my 18th year in education in
Gadsden County. My professional experiences include Parent Liaison, K-6 Elementary
Education, Media Specialist, Instructional Reading Coach K-8 and 9th -12th English Language
Arts for ELL students. It is my philosophy that building positive relationships with staff and
parents is just as important as the relationships with the children in order to educate the whole
child.

On a personal note, I am a proud native of Gadsden County and educated in the Gadsden County
School District. I am very family oriented and the proud mother of one son, two daughters and
the overly proud grandmother of three very energetic boys.

As a member of the George W. Munroe T.E.A.M., we are committed to providing students with
the opportunity to develop their enthusiasm for learning, exploration of their academic and
personal interests, and understanding the world around us.
