Education

I am currently a teacher at George W. Monrue Elementary School where I teach Kindergarten. I am formerly from Saint John Elementary School where I have taught kindergarten for the past five years. I was born Baker County to Bonnie Miller and R.J. Miller I was the fourth of five children. Educated in the Public schools of Baker County and graduated from Baker County high school of Newton Georgia. I continued my education by attending Bainbridge College. After completing two years at Bainbridge College, I transferred to Albany State University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I pursued and earned a Master Degree in Early Childhood Education some years later. Presently, I am married to Dr. Marvin Van Thomas; we have two children Marva Thomas Neal, Marcus O. Thomas and eight grand Children. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in all areas by providing an environment that is safe and supports risk-taking. Teaching has been a very rewarding and a fulfilling experience for me. I believe that every child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, environment in which to grow, mature and learn.
