Education

Former graduate of FSU in Social Science with a minor degree in Interrelated Areas of Special Education.  Certified in Reading, Varying Exceptionalities, & ESOL.

Experience

Presently, I’m working in a Self-contained classroom as a teacher of Exceptional students in kindergarten, first, and second grades.  In addition, I'm implementing strategies using computer based techniques, music, and art to calm, reward, and motivate continuous on-task behaviors.  My prior teaching included students from 5 to 19 years of age in reading related subject matters. Of the 200 students that I've taught, all of my high school students have received their high school diplomas and two-thirds of them have taken college courses.

Have taught Reading, Learning Strategies, and Peer Counseled University students at FSU and FAMU.  In addition, I've facilitated a ministerial program at FSU for students regardless of ethnicity or religious background. Furthermore, I've worked (prayed and counseled) with a "Family Sharing Mentoring" Program counseling adult males at WCI.

Bio

Previously, I've taught high school students at FAMU DRS, Chattahoochee, Havana Northside, Quincy Shanks, and FSU School. From secondary to primary, being certified in K-12 Reading has helped several students transition from Elementary to college. Havana Elementary and Havana Magnet are two schools that I've taught various subjects prior to teaching at G.W.M.E.S.  As an Elder at Greater Blessings Tabernacle of Praise in Tallahassee  and the founder/director of the C.T.S.G.E. Prayer Ministry, Inc., I do intercessory prayer.  Furthermore, my mission is to help students and their parents see their individual potential for success.
